Ministry Description

We have been helping people from South Asia for more than twenty-five years. WE lived fourteen years in Pakistan helping mostly the Sindhi people. In August 2002, we moved to New Jersey, Janet's home. This is convenient to NYC, where there are approximately 100,000 people from Pakistan, and 200,000 from Bangladesh. People from South Asia have unique social and spiritual needs that we are able to understand due to our time spent in Pakistan. We pray that immigrants from this part of the world will be welcomed, and find spiritual resources that have otherwise been unavailable to them. To help them discover these resources we distribute Bibles and other forms of media free of charge to this community. In 2008, we were able to train more than 250 people in the particular nuances of building better relationships with immigrants from South Asia. Much of this has been in partnership with the New York School for Urban Ministry. In addition to South Asians, John has been able to develop his evangelistic gifts in an American environment, with the help of a team from India. In 2008, we prayed with more than 48 people to receive Jesus into their hearts, and in 2009, our goal is 90 souls. People from more than 17 nations and all major religions have prayed with us. In March 2009, beginning with a trip to India and Bangladesh, John will begin researching the history of religion in India focusing upon Bengal for doctoral dissertation.
