Sebastian’s Journey
That’s right folks! You’re looking at Sean and Sebastian (he’s the lobster). We had our annual LHCyouth Christmas Banquet Sunday night and it was amazing. I don’t know if you’ve ever seen 100 of our junior and senior high students dressed up, but let me tell you…it was a site to behold. Click here for a quick look at how amazing our students and leaders are. OK…so here’s the deal with the lobster…We play a game called “White Elephant” or “Yankee Swap” (if you’re an office fan) and the way it works is you have to pick a number out of a hat and that will then be the picking order for all the wrapped gifts everyone brought with them. These gifts aren’t meant to be the best things in the world (even though I ended up with a $10 gift certificate to the Macaroni Grill!). The lower your number the worse off you are. Once it’s your turn to pick a gift to open, if someone before you has picked a gift that you like, you can steal it from them! Then they have to open up another gift and keep that one, regardless of what it is:) However, once a gift has been stolen 3 times, it can’t be stolen again.Sebastian got picked by number 3 or 4…it was WAY EARLY ON… And he was quickly stolen twice. He’s was no doubt the hot gift of the night. But he finally stolen away a third time and landed securely in the hand of Jeff, one of our great high school boys small group leaders. I thought for sure that lobster was going to be 4th meal for Jeff.To give you a glimpse into how awesome our leaders are, Jeff gave up Sebastian to the chef of the night Margie because he knew she would enjoy him way more than he would. I love my leaders… you guys are way amazing!Long blog short, it was an amazing night. Great food, great fellowship, and a great chance to dress up and celebrate the most amazing man who was ever born…Jesus. And just remember…this banquet is open to all our students and leaders…it’s a great ministry to be a part of ;o)Pastor Jimmy

Ok, Jimmy - your banquet was cool. That is undeniable. But one thing was missing, you must admit. Pop-locking. For a great time, everyone should definitely go to the youth banquet. But for all those looking for a killer breakdance battle, check out The Loft banquet next time ; )
