Thoughts and experiences
It is refreshing to have a place to share the thoughts and experiences I have on my spiritual journey. God has proven Himself merciful, loving and gracious time and time again and I believe this to be a safe place, where others on the journey can interact, encourage and hopefully identify.
However, there was a song some years ago that comes to mind as I express some thoughts for this first blog, “Everything old is new again.” For my money, David and those whom God allowed to join him in writing the Psalms were the original bloggers. They lived their lives with a keen awareness of God’s presence and then exposed the depth of their souls and the beauty of God with poetic passion.
Somehow they accomplished this without the power of a Mac laptop, the assistance of a wireless keyboard and the speed of the Internet. Although the method of production and distribution seem archaic, the truth about God and life is still transformational and powerful. The beauty of our God hasn’t faded since that time and the complexities of life are no less painful and disorienting. What has changed or the old that seems new, is only related to production and distribution. Our need for God still cries out from the depths of our being and the purifying love of God still reaches those depths with plenty to spare. The “Ancient of Days” loves you dearly.
