Outside of the Church what ambition is as yet unfulfilled?
It is one of our hearts desires to someday have a place where pastors and their families can go to get away, refresh, unwind, heal, whatever they may need to recoup from the busyness of their lives. Who knows, maybe by then I’ll have a book idea.
Recognizing that New Jersey is the greatest place in the world, what other place in the world do you really enjoy visiting and why?
I love the mountains and jungles of West Africa and South America. I have been to both and love the challenges and rewards of ministering to the people of these places, and the food isn’t bad either.
You are stuck on a desert island. Besides the Bible, and your wife, and your family and your friends, what three inanimate objects would you take with you?
A cooking pot, a lighter, and lots of toilet paper.
What is one thing about your (previous jobs / accomplishments) that would surprise the congregation?
In grade school & high school i had a dream of someday competing in the Olympics in diving. I made it as far as the state finals but came in 9th place. Oh well, I had a lot of fun competing.
What does it mean to “Love God” to your personally?
For me it encompasses all that I am. I am a spiritual, physical, social, and emotional being, so I need to love Him with all that I am. To ”love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength” may look different for everyone, but that’s where trust comes into play.
Why do you do your current role at Long Hill Chapel?
It is a passion I have to see children come to know our Savior & Lord, Jesus Christ, and to grow up in that relationship. It has been an awesome “ride” of ups and downs and He has been faithful in every way. I love serving Him here at Long Hill Chapel.
Why is “Loving Others” so critical?
Because it is the very heart of our Lord’s life and message. It should never be about me or what I want. Although that is easy to say, I have failed many times, and have had opportunity to see that His grace is sufficient and His power is made perfect in my weakness.
What does “Serving the World” mean to you?
As part of the body of Jesus Christ, I realize that I have a calling and a responsibility to use the gifts given by God the Father through the supernatural power of the Holy Spirit to accomplish Jesus’ command to make disciples. I do this because the love of Christ compels me and because of God’s great love for all mankind that none should perish but all come to saving faith in the One who died and now lives forevermore.
Given that Soccer is the “beautiful game” what is your second favorite sport?
