Outside of the Church what ambition is as yet unfulfilled?
To shoot an under par round at St. Andrews Old Course in Scotland.
Recognizing that New Jersey is the greatest place in the world, what other place in the world do you really enjoy visiting and why?
Darn right NJ is the best! we’ve got everything…why in the world would you need to go anywhere else?! but if i had to pick some other place to visit, it would be anywhere that has lots of golf courses for me, beaches for my wife and kids, and good food. (i know…that’s still NJ)
You are stuck on a desert island. Besides the Bible, your wife, and your family and friends, what three inanimate objects would you take with you?
Golf Clubs, my Yankees Hat, and a “Physician’s Desk Reference..hollowed out, inside-waterproof matches, iodine tablets, beet seeds, protein bars, NASA blanket and, in case I get bored, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone. No, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. Question, did my shoes come off in the plane crash?” (courtesy of Dwight Schrute)
What is one thing about you (previous jobs / accomplishments) that would surprise the congregation?
I worked in the kitchen and did delivery for a local chinese restaurant in south jersey, and I also played on the PDGA (professional disc golf association)
What does it mean to “Love God” to you personally?
To be totally devoted to Him, reliant on Him, and in step with where He is going.
Why do you do your current role at Long Hill Chapel?
Because i can’t see myself ever doing anything else. Teaching and challenging students to fall in love with Christ, pursue Him wholly, and tell others about him is what God has called me to. I just love it…
Why is “Loving Others” so critical?
This is where Christ really set an example for us to follow. Loving others is the best way to look like Jesus and if we want other people to know about Him and to fall in love with Him, we have to love them like He would.
What does “Serving the World” mean to you?
Putting actions to all the love. Just saying that you love God and love others is one thing, but showing them serving them is what really connects people to Christ.
Given that Soccer is the “beautiful game” what is your second favorite sport?
New York Yankee Baseball…period
